Lavazza began in 1895, when Luigi Lavazza opened the first store in the historic centre of Turin, Italy. He explored the unique characteristics of coffee beans from different origins, perfecting the art of blending. Inspired by a trip to Brazil, he envisioned the beverage’s potential and created the iconic Lavazza blend using beans from around the world.

Today, while maintaining the same values of the little coffee shop that opened over a century ago in the historic heart of Turin, Lavazza has grown to 4,000 employees, operates 9 manufacturing plants in 6 countries, and exports to over 140 countries worldwide.
