Buono Gluten Free is a family run Australian artisan brand creating award-winning gluten free pizza bases by hand, the authentic Italian way.
The gluten free pizza bases actually taste as good or better than a regular pizza base, according to comments on social media. How they manage it is their secret, but there is a particular Italian flour they use with less gluten than Australia’s export quality wheat … that’s all we know.
The brand was developed by a pizzeria owner looking for a solution for her gluten free customers.
Most gluten free pizza bases are machine made and nothing like an authentic italian pizza base. With Buono’s handmade 101, hand spun product, you can give your gluten free customers the same uncompromised pizza eating experience everybody else enjoys. Gluten-intolerant customers will love you for these.
Pizza bases and bread rounds are supplied frozen in bulk packs, offering pre-prepared, pre-cooked convenience for restaurants, caterers, and pizzerias.
Pizza base sizes and weight is approximate:
- The raw dough weighs 270g but shrinks slightly after it’s pre-cooked
- 10.5” is the frozen size, once thawed it can expand to 11”
How to use:
- Buono recommends to pull the base straight from the freezer, microwave it for 30 seconds to 1 minute, sauce it, top it, and cook as per normal.
- Not recommended to top it and put it in the oven from frozen as cook times vary from machine to machine, or even between different wood fired ovens.
